Jenney’s Maternity Session | Claremore Maternity Photographer

Jenney’s Maternity Session | Claremore Maternity Photographer

Every once in a while, you’ll meet someone and know that God put them there for a reason. Meet Jenney, she’s one of those people in my life. We met through a mutual friend who started out as a client of my husband’s. As it turns out, Jenney used to live in the house that I currently live in! In addition, we both love essential oils, are mommas who love to TRY and eat clean, send our kids to Christian schools and we both have connections to lineman (super dangerous job – thank a lineman if you have power!). That’s a whole lotta randomness that, to me, is amazing that we have in common. She’s pretty awesome!

As a Claremore maternity photographer, I decided to put a call out for a maternity model not too long ago and our mutual friend suggested Jenney fill the spot. While Jenney wasn’t feeling her prettiest (I mean, who is at 37 weeks with their fourth child!) she decided to go ahead and do it because this was her LAST planned pregnancy and having maternity photos is something she hadn’t done with the previous 3 kids. Being the last, it’s a kind of bittersweet memento of the magical times she grew a tiny human inside of her and she will now have these portraits to look back and cherish these times.

She arrived not really knowing what to expect. I welcomed her into my studio (which used to be her old bedroom) and we began talking about what she hoped to get out of the experience. I threw a few curlers in her hair and touched up her make up while we chatted. Before long, we were ready to start shooting! We started in the dress she brought but as the session progressed, I brought out some long pieces of fabric to fashion a custom maternity dress that looked downright elegant on her 🙂

This is what she said directly following the session BEFORE she even saw one preview:

I want to day a HUGE thank you to Tami Molinaro for making me feel absolutely beautiful during our photo shoot this evening. The only other time I’ve felt that comfortable in front of a camera and pretty was my wedding day. YOU have a true gift. Thank you for making this pregnant woman feel amazing!

This is what she said AFTER she saw this preview:

Thank you again Tami Molinaro for taking such beautiful maternity photos. It’s not easy to make a huge pregnant lady feel beautiful on a hot Oklahoma spring day but you succeeded.

I am so happy to have been able to deliver such a great experience for you, Jenney!

Stay tuned for a sneak peek at the newborn session we did for her just before our Denver trip! Little D’s big debut!

Boots on the Boulevard | Photobooth Fun!

I am so excited to announce that I will be a vendor for one of the biggest events to roll through Claremore! Every year, the rodeo comes through town and it’s a REALLY big deal! Main Street hosts a Food Truck Thursday event every month during the warm season that is like a street festival; this month, Food Truck Thursday kicks off a four day celebration of the Will Rogers Stampede, 3 time PRCA Small Rodeo of the Year.

This year, its reported that we will have 14 food trucks slingin’ their awesome bites, street vendors (like me) offering all kinds of fun and items to purchase and the stores that line Will Rogers Blvd will be open late for shopping. There’s going to be a kid area where kids can let loose and have fun and there will also be live bands and get this…..Zumba classes! We are expecting a pretty large turnout, so come early and expect to stay late because there’s an after party on Missouri until 11pm.

Here’s the Facebook event listing for more info: click here

So what is a portrait photographer doing down on Main Street for Boots on the Boulevard? Well, I had so much fun running the Easter Bunny Pictures for Main Street that they invited me back to run a Western themed photo booth! Come on down between 6p-9p and you’ll find me set up by RCB Bank with a booth fully stocked for some goof-offery! Oh, and there’s a fun little drawing where you can ENTER TO WIN A FREE SESSION from me while you’re there.

1 sitting for $3 gets you (2) 2″x 6″ strips like this:

You can purchase a reprint or a second sitting for just $2 (1 for $3 or 2 for $5). I think the best part of having a photo booth is “testing” it, lol!

Here’s a little sneak peek at some of my wares. Initially I was going to make it a flat $5 per session, but I’ve since revised that 😉

Jaime’s Beauty Session

Jaime’s Beauty Session

I recently become good friends with Jaime McNeill, the magical hands behind Gift of Health Massage, located inside Trinity Day Spa next door to Eggbert’s in Claremore, OK. She is amazingly talented and offers a variety of modalities, including hot stone, Swedish massage and trigger point massage. Not too long ago, we completed her first ever beauty session and professional head shots in my studio. She enjoyed relaxing music and being pampered while we beautified her for her camera debut.

Jaime has been in the massage business since 2006 and has provided clients with excellent service and positive experiences. I was delighted when she asked me to photograph her massage studio; that date is still to be determined. I will be sure to share once we have set a date.

I know I recommend Jaime’s services, and I suggest you try her massages out to, too!  She is quite easily the best massage therapist….ever!

Mommy & Me Mini Sessions | Claremore, OK

Mommy & Me Mini Sessions | Claremore, OK

Pictures with the Easter Bunny were a huge success and I want to thank the team over at Three Twenty on Main as well as Claremore Main Street Merchants for hosting the event and all you wonderful families who came out to participate in the event! I enjoyed meeting every single one of you and hope to see you all again! We served well over our anticipated total and there was hardly a line for most of the event as things flowed smoothly – beats waiting in line at the mall, am I right? I hope to serve you all next year.

Now that Easter is upon us and we are all looking forward to Mother’s Day, I’d like to roll out my next event: Mommy & Me Mini Sessions.  This is HUGE news as I rarely offer discounted or mini sessions.

MINI SESSION FAQ

How much will this cost?

The Mommy & Me Mini Sessions cost $75 (normally $99) and includes:

  • Pre-session consultation to style your session
  • 30 minutes of camera time
  • Online gallery with 10 images to choose from
  • (2) 5×7 prints of your favorite two poses
  • (1) Social media preview image with logo (not for print)
  • Additional items available from the online gallery

When is it?

Our Mommy & Me Mini Sessions are available Saturdays in April: 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th. Session times will be between 5:30-7:30p. Available times will be kept up to date on the Facebook event page.

What is a Mini Session?

A mini session is just that, a short session. Normally my portrait sessions last 1-2 hours. A mini session is a shorter timeframe that lets you have the advantage of a professional photographer without incurring the cost of a full session.

Why would I want a mini session?

Mini sessions are great for specific things like pictures with Mom! Most moms spend the year behind the camera photographing their little ones; it’s time to step in front of the camera and document the family historian with her creations.

How does a Mini Session work?

Mini sessions will run every half hour, back to back, on specific days only. There will be a few minutes in-between families so the “Set” can be rearranged and families can come and go with ease. Because this schedule is tight it is important that you show up 10 minutes early for your scheduled time slot. That allows for any slight traffic delays and wardrobe checks that need to happen.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself, your family and a sense of fun! Sometimes things can get a little delayed so a little patience is good too!

How long is a mini session?

Mini sessions last up to 30 minutes. If you have young children count on using all of that time. If you are a couple it may not take that long to get the images you want but we will use all the time and you will get some great images.

Will I get all the photos I want?

Due to the time constraints and value price of a mini session you will only receive 10 edited images in the online gallery to choose from. Included in the price are two 5×7 prints of your favorite poses. Additional items may be ordered from the online gallery, including digital files, slideshow, canvas wraps, ornaments, cards and more. Full sessions are available for larger families, groups including pets or those with special needs.

Why do I need to sign a contract?

The contract protects us both. The contract says that I will be there on the day of the photos and take the pictures you are paying me for and deliver them on time. The contract also says that you will show up on the day of the shoot because I may have had to turn someone away, that you will pay me for the images taken and you won’t alter or submit them as your own to any contest or publication. There is also a model release that allows me to use the images in my portfolio, on my website and on social media sites to help with self-promotion.

When will I get to see the images?

Images will be delivered via an online gallery in 14 business days from the day of the shoot unless otherwise stated.

How do I sign up?

To reserve your time for this event, please contact us directly to see what appointments are available. Typically, outdoor sessions are done within an hour of sunrise or within two hours prior to sunset. If you need a time during the day, we do have select studio times available as well, however our studio only accommodates small groups of 3 or less.

When do I have to pay the session fee?

The session fee is due at the time of booking. An appointment is not confirmed until the invoice is paid, however we will hold a tentative time for your session up to 24 hours. We can email you an online invoice that is payable with credit or debit card; Cash and check also accepted in person.

Amy Kulikov | Senior Portrait Session

Amy Kulikov | Senior Portrait Session

Today I want you to meet Amy.

Diligent, creative and fun are the words that come to mind when I think about this young woman.

Amy is a homeschooled senior in Tulsa. Her extracurricular activities include being part of the Production Team at Church on the Move, Missions trips for the church and photography.

Our session was such an adventure! We started downtown with the graffiti murals, then headed to Sand Springs to photograph at Little Mountain Productions and finally, we finished  up at the Church on the Move Oneighty Campus where she and I are volunteers on the Production Team. Amy clearly loves adventure because as I am writing this, she is on a church missions trip in Los Angeles serving the homeless at The Dream Center. Isn’t she wonderful?

I loved the simplicity of the outfits that Amy brought to the shoot; they were classy yet casual and not distracting in any way from her natural beauty. Well done, Amy!

Amy specifically wanted to show her interests in her senior shoot, both current and what she intends to do after high school. She is not the girly type, but more confident and tomboyish.

I asked her whether she had any advice to offer others who were getting ready to take senior pictures. This is what she had to share:

“Have fun, be confident, be bold,” Amy said.

After high school, she plans to complete an internship with the church.

Best of luck to Amy. I know you’ll do wonderful things!

These were a few of her favorites:

Beth Ashcraft | You Are Beautiful

Beth Ashcraft | You Are Beautiful

I’ve spent the last 20 years photographing everyone else, I finally decided it was time to photograph my own family, starting with my mom.

I casually asked her if she would come model for me in the new studio and bring a few fun outfits. I don’t think she was expecting the full on experience, lol! I even suggested that maybe this could be the headshot she uses as her author bio on the book she working on! (You see, my mom has been called to ministry and there is much to be said through her, that is the path God set her on). Trouble was, she didn’t really have any updated professional portraits of herself, just selfies taken with her cell phone. It was time to change all of that!

Beth Ashcraft | Beauty Portraits from Tami Molinaro on Vimeo.

She is beautiful. I bawled like a baby the first time I watched this video because it is so her. This is so my calling. This is what I am meant to do. Go figure that I’d find spiritual meaning behind my camera. It was God’s plan all along.

Being a Christian woman, I couldn’t think of a better song to use in her video; it suits her and it works with my new aim. I am constantly hearing women tell me that they’d love to do a session, but they’d like to lose a few pounds or they have nothing to wear. She tried to tell me the same things. Enough excuses, YOU are beautiful. There’s always a reason to put it off, but when you’re faced with a disaster, these are the images you’ll save from the fire….they’re your heirlooms.

Tomorrow is not promised and you’ll never look as young as you do now, besides today is part of your story too! It’s time to exist in pictures for our loved ones. I promise to make it an easy and enjoyable experience. You are beautiful!  🙂

McNeill Family 2017 | Claremore, OK

Absolutely amazing! Tami is so talented. She will get to the heart of your family, or your special occasion with her special gift for seeing beyond the surface & capturing that unique spark. She's the real deal!

Jaime McNeill
Claremore, OK

Hi again, everyone!

Let me stop for a second to tell you that I am seriously the luckiest photographer in the world. My clients are always so amazing to work with. That's true of my session with the McNeill family, too!

I met up with them in October at their family estate and the weather was perfect for photo-taking. It was sunny and warm, perfect for frolicking around and having fun while taking pictures! While the weather was fine, it was the McNeill family that made this shoot such a treat.

The McNeill family consists of Kevin & Jaime (parents), Andrew (10), Hank (6) and Neil (3). They are such a wonderfully creative bunch to hang out with and oh so talented! I really enjoyed my time with them.

Better Things Are Yet To Come | Claremore Photographer

Better Things Are Yet To Come | Claremore Photographer

What a year it has been! I’ve largely spent the year working for other studios in the area (since I am still “new” to Oklahoma) so I could see how others do things. I have to say that it’s been a humbling experience, to say the least. I worked for a mall photography studio and a high end studio with many clients. I’ve seen how both kinds of volume photographers work their business and how it drastically varies from my own…. I have to say, there is a HUGE difference! I have a lot more time to spend with each client that I take on.

I am not your typical momtographer, found in Facebook groups, no I am a whole different animal.

Before: When you contact me for portraits, please know that I will ask lots of questions, mainly because the better I know you beforehand, the better I can capture you during our session. I will ask what your goal of the session is, why you’re getting pictures, who will be in them, how the images will be used, and many more. We will discuss wardrobe, location, weather and artistic feel.

During our session I will give lots of direction, compliments and we will likely do a lot of walking if it’s outdoors. The session will be so easy that you’ll probably be unsure if I captured anything monumental….rest assured that I have! I won’t stop shooting until I do.

About a week or two after your session, the images will be ready to view. I won’t release any online galleries until you’ve seen them in person. It’s normal if your eyes do a little “leaking” during the reveal.  During my latest reveal, my client was virtually speechless….when they finally found the words, this is what they said,

“Wow! This isn’t just pictures, it’s a whole experience!” – Kevin McNeill

(THAT, right there, is *exactly* what sets me apart!)

My goal as a photographer is to help capture your family memories, but let’s be real for a second – doesn’t EVERY photographer say that? My real goal is to make you cry, but in a good way! I don’t just take pictures, any ol’ monkey can do that. We all have cell phones with cameras and SLR cameras are a dime a dozen now….. What you’re paying for when you book me is my years of education and experience, my passion, my artistry and yes, I’ve sunk a ton of money into gear over the years, it covers a bit of that, too. Mainly, it’s my vision.

Your family is beautiful, magical and most of all, they’re worth it.

When I see a client cry tears of happiness at their reveal, I know I’ve accurately captured your love ones; that what you’re seeing with your eyes matches what your heart feels. I haven’t just taken a picture, I’ve frozen time for you to cherish the rest of your life. These aren’t just pictures and I don’t sell paper; I am documenting family history as vividly and romantic as your memories.

Big Announcement:

I’d like to take  a moment to announce that I now have my indoor studio space ready for sessions right here in Claremore! If you’re ready to treat  yourself to a new headshot, beauty portrait or you just didn’t get a chance to get that yearly portrait of the little ones before Christmas (time gets away from us all at some point), then give me a call! The weather may be frightful outside, but my studio is nice and warm 🙂

If you’re ready to take the first step towards preserving your family memories with imagery that withstand the test of time, then it’s time to contact me, your local Claremore Photographer. Let’s do this!

What are you waiting for?
